Cranberry Sauce is one of the easiest things to make SCD. It also tastes a lot better than the canned kind. I didn’t even know I liked cranberry sauce until I started making my own, because I really hated the canned sauce.
Here’s my recipe:
1 12 oz. bag of fresh or frozen cranberries
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup honey
Note: If you don’t want any orange flavor you can use 2 cups of water instead. I’ve also made this with apple cider.
Combine orange juice, water, and honey in a medium sauce pan. Bring to a boil. Add cranberries. Bring back to a boil and then reduce heat to medium low. Simmer (everything should still be bubbling a little) for 10 – 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the cranberries have burst and sauce is very thick.
Remove from heat. Allow to cool completely before serving.
