SCD Recipe: Cranberry Sauce

Update 11-22-2018: Be sure to check out my new SCD No-Juice Cranberry Sauce recipe.

Cranberry Sauce is one of the easiest things to make SCD. It also tastes a lot better than the canned kind. I didn’t even know I liked cranberry sauce until I started making my own, because I really hated the canned sauce.

Here’s my recipe:

1 12 oz. bag of fresh or frozen cranberries
1 cup orange juice

1/2 cup honey

Note: If you don’t want any orange flavor you can use 1 cups of water instead. I’ve also made this with apple cider.

Combine orange juice, water, and honey in a medium sauce pan. Bring to a boil. Add cranberries. Bring back to a boil and then reduce heat to medium low. Simmer (everything should still be bubbling a little) for 10 – 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the cranberries have burst and sauce is very thick.

Remove from heat. Allow to cool completely before serving.

  1. I just whizzed a bunch of cranberries, a few dates and a pinch of salt in my tiny food processor until smooth, and it was super tasty, plus, it was a raw food! (About 1 cup fresh cranberries, 4 dates, pinch of salt).
