Healthy Raspberry Frozen Yogurt (SCD-Friendly, Ninja Creami Recipe)

There’s something magical about a frozen treat that’s both indulgent and healing for your gut. This Healthy Raspberry Frozen Yogurt delivers all the creamy, tangy satisfaction of classic froyo — but without refined sugar, artificial thickeners, or digestive irritants.

Made with homemade SCD yogurt, antioxidant-rich raspberries, and natural honey, this recipe is perfect for anyone following the Specific Carbohydrate Diet or simply looking for a gut-friendly frozen dessert.

Why This Raspberry Frozen Yogurt is Perfect for SCD & Gut Health

We start with SCD-compliant homemade yogurt — naturally rich in probiotics to support your gut microbiome. Then we blend in fresh raspberries for a deep, jammy flavor, brighten it with lemon juice, and sweeten it naturally with honey.

By letting the berries rest with honey and lemon, we draw out every bit of flavor before straining away seeds for extra creaminess.

And the best part? The Ninja Creami does all the heavy lifting, turning simple ingredients into a scoop-shop worthy dessert.

My Journey to Creating This SCD Frozen Yogurt Recipe

When I first started the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, frozen treats felt like a thing of the past. Ice cream shops were off-limits, and store-bought frozen yogurt was packed with ingredients I couldn’t have.

Then I discovered the Ninja Creami, and everything changed. I realized I could make creamy, flavorful, probiotic-rich desserts at home using my own yogurt and fresh, whole ingredients.

This raspberry version quickly became my summer favorite because:

  • Lower sugar than many fruits
  • Naturally sweet & tart balance
  • Easy on digestion
  • Satisfying yet light

Why You’ll Love This Healthy Raspberry Frozen Yogurt

  • Probiotic-rich from homemade SCD yogurt
  • Naturally sweetened with honey — no refined sugar
  • Smooth & seed-free for velvety texture (and easier on the gut)
  • Quick & easy to make in the Ninja Creami
  • Gut-friendly & SCD-compliant

Equipment You’ll Need

Tips for Perfect SCD Frozen Yogurt

  • Use strained yogurt for thicker texture
  • Choose ripe raspberries for natural sweetness
  • Adjust honey to taste
  • For a twist, try mixing in blueberries or strawberries after spinning

Serving Ideas

  • Top with fresh berries
  • Add a drizzle of warm honey
  • Sprinkle with toasted coconut or slivered almonds

What if I don’t have a Ninja Creami?

That’s no problem! You can use a no churn method – freeze the mixture and stir every hour or so until it’s frozen all the way through. Or you can use whatever ice cream maker you like. The only difference is you don’t have to freeze your mixture prior to churning, you can make it right away!

Your Turn: Have you tried making frozen yogurt at home yet? Do you prefer tangy flavors like raspberry or something sweeter like mango? Share your ideas in the comments so we can all keep our freezers stocked with gut-friendly frozen treats.
