I love fruit desserts. They are light and refreshing and a great way to add a healthy element to your dessert plate. This Air Fryer Pineapple is simple to make and a great Specific Carbohydrate Diet™ (SCD™) dessert.
Do you use fresh or canned pineapple for Air Fryer Pineapple?
Fresh is best, but you can use canned! If you are using canned pineapple, get the rings canned it its own juice. If you are using fresh you can peel and core a pineapple. I frequently buy one that has already been peeled and cored and cut into rings. You can usually find these in the cold section of the produce department.
What type of air fryer?
I have both a toaster oven style of fryer and a baset fryer. For this I used the toaster oven style, but you can use either. The instructions are the same either way. I like the toaster oven style of air fryer because it has a window and I can see what’s happening while it’s cooking – burning, not done enough, etc.
What do you need to make air fryer pineapple?
Air Fryer Pineapple equipment:
- Air Fryer
- Cutting board
- Saucepan
- Baster (optional)
Air Fryer Pineapple ingredients:
- Whole pineapple – peeled, cored, and sliced into rings
- Honey
- Butter
- Cinnamon (optional)
How do you serve Air Fryer Pineapple?
You can serve warm or chilled. It’s great with SCD™ vanilla ice cream, yogurt, berries, or heavy cream yogurt (aka Creme Fraiche in Breaking the Vicious Cyle).

Delicious Air Fryer Pineapple
Ingredients
- 1 Pineapple – peeled and cored
- 2 tsp butter – melted You can sub coconut oil
- 1 – 2 tsp honey
- ½ tsp cinnamon
Instructions

Preheat air fryer to 400F°

If pineapple is not already sliced, slice into ½ inch rings

Melt butter in small saucepan

Place pineapple rings in air fryer basket or on air fryer trays

Baste with melted butter

Turn over and bast other side with butter

Drizzle a little honey around each ring

Sprinkle with cinnamon

Air fry for 10 minutes

Turn rings over and drizzle a little more honey on that side, sprinkle with cinnamon

Air fry another five minutes

Serve right away or chill for later
