The first stop was of course discovering the Breaking the Vicious Cycle book. I think I had the book for about three months before I took the plunge.
After starting the diet I realized I would need a yogurt maker and some almond flour. I desperately wanted to have something that seemed dessert like and the yogurt and almond flour baked goods fit the bill. Also finding stuff for breakfast was proving to be rather difficult.
At the time the only recipes to be found were in Breaking the Vicious Cycle. It was not a huge section and to be perfectly honest I was not in love with all the recipes. I found a few online, but I really wanted a book so I would have it right there when I needed it.
Luckily I found the Lucy’s Kitchen Shop website. I bought my yogurt maker (still in use), yogurt starter (now I use plain yogurt), some almond flour, and her cookbook.
I loved the new recipes.
Some of my favorites:
Billy’s Mother’s Chicken
Broccoli Casserole
Parmesan Herb Bread & Crackers
Pat’s Christmas Cake Muffins
Cinnamon Cookies

I have just started thinking about a SCD program so I can start healing.. and I just ordered this book from Amazon! 🙂
Trying to find a
Legal scd probiotic to take. Any suggestions, the one I’ve taken for about 15 year has discontinued the product.
I don’t take any probiotics at this time. I’m not sure which one a lot of SCD followers are using.
