Make iced tea in your Instant Pot
Not long ago I shared a post about making a slightly sweet iced tea, using fresh mint, in an Instant Pot. But, you can also easily make a great plain black iced tea.
I love doing this because I can get a big batch of tea that tastes great and has no additives whatsoever. If you take a look at my mint tea recipe you can see some of the reasons why you can get a better taste using an Instant Pot than just boiling water and seeping the tea that way.
If you love tea, as I do, this is a great way to always have some ready.
Instant Pot Iced Tea
Ingredients
- 2 large tea bags or 2 regular size
- 3 quarts filtered water
Instructions
-
Add water and tea bags to Instant Pot. In my 6 qt, it came to the half way marker.
-
Make sure lid is on sealing setting and pressure cook tea for 4 minutes.
-
Allow tea to natural release for 15 – 20 minutes and then you can do the quick release to depressurize the rest of the way. Turn off heat, don’t use the Keep Warm setting.
-
Allow tea to cool down before pouring into pitcher.
-
If tea is too strong mix with a little cold filtered water before serving and/or a lot of ice. Tea is very dark, but doesn’t taste as strong as it looks.
