Grain-free Apple Crisp

Ingredients

Topping

Filling

  • 4 medium apples - use different kinds for the most flavor granny smith, gala, honey crisp, etc
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • oil or butter for baking dish

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350F°

Topping

  1. Add almond flour, cinnamon, salt, and softened butter to a medium mixing bowl

  2. Mix until all ingredients are combined and mixture is crumbly

Filling

  1. Peel and chop apples into ½" cubes

  2. Add chopped apples and stir in lemond juice so all apples are coated

  3. Add honey and cinnamon

  4. Stir until everything is combined and apples are coated with the honey and cinnamon

  5. Lightly oil or butter a 8x8" baking dish

  6. Pour apple mixture into baking dish and spread into an even layer

  7. Drop topping over top of apples in an even layer

  8. Cover baking dish with foil

  9. Bake covered for 25 minutes

  10. Remove foil and continue baking for 20 - 25 minutes until apples are soft

  11. Allow dish to cool on wire rack for 10 minutes

  12. Serve warm if desired

  13. Store in refrigerator - be sure to cool to room temperature before refrigerating
