SCD Instant Pot Apple-Mango Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ lbs apples (use your favorite kind for sauce or a mixture of kinds)
  • 2 cups chopped mango (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • cup water

Instructions

  1. Peel (if peeling) and chop apples

  2. If using fresh mango - peel and chop

  3. Add apples, mango, cinnamon, and water to Instant Pot inner pot

  4. Put lid on Instant Pot and make sure valve is set to sealing

  5. Set manual or regular pressure for 12 minutes

  6. It will take several minutes for the Instant Pot to come to pressure before the 12 minutes of pressure cooking starts

  7. Once the 12 minutes of cooking is done, allow the Instant Pot to depressurize naturally for 10 minutes before doing the quick release to release the rest of the pressure

  8. Puree sauce with hand blender or regular blender until desired consistancy

  9. Store in refrigerator for up to a week

Recipe Notes

It is optional to peel the apples. The apple skin will get very soft in the Instant Pot and will puree with the rest of the sauce. However, it may still be detectable, especially if you like chunkier sauce.
