SCD No-juice Cranberry Sauce

  • 1 medium Fuji apple
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 12 oz cranberries (1 bag or about a cup and a half)


  1. Peel and chop apple into small chunks

  2. Add chopped apple, water, lemon juice, spices, and honey to a medium saucepan

Simmer over medium heat for about five minutes until apple is soft

  1. Blend apple mixture until completely purreed - use blender or immersion blender and add back to saucepan

  2. Add cranberries to apple puree (make sure you wash cranberries first - it's easy to forget to do this)

  3. Simmer cranberries over medium heat - so it's bubbling a little - for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.

  4. Reduce heat to low and cook an addional five minutes without stirring

  5. Remove sauce from heat and allow to cool to room temerature

  6. Chill in refrigerator before serving
