Doing Some Diet Research

Yesterday I posted a poll on the sidebar about people’s experience with the diet. I am doing a little research to see what other people’s experiences are on the diet. This not scientific, but just a fun way to share some basic information. I will be using the information I gather at a later date. I’m looking into what makes the diet difficult  (the first poll), what kinds of information about the diet people are looking for, favorite types of recipes, and anything else I may think of along the way.

If you would like to participate please click an answer to the poll to the right. Please also feel free to leave comments here – if you would like to share any experiences about starting and living with the diet.

Thanks in advance for your help with my informal research project.

  1. What would you consider’loss of convenience’ in the options? We follow scd for my 6 yr old daughter’s UC. I miss the ability to grab and go, ability to stop at restaurants or even the grocery tore to grab something for her to eat other than aged cheese, etc. If I don’t keep on top of her eating habits with enough prepared food, ripened bananas, etc., then we run into trouble. It is not that it is difficult to prepare, but it is time consuming. So lack of convenience and scheduling time to cook are my two main difficulties with scd.

  2. Hi Susan, thanks for the input! Cooking times would have been a good addition. Maybe I will go ahead and add that to the poll since it is still early.

Cheese is something I end up grabbing when we are out and there is nothing else. The loss of convenience can be frustrating sometimes. No fast food on road trips sometimes makes it hard to get something to eat. I always make sure I have plenty of Lara Bars and my packs of SCD legal tuna (I have Polar right now).

  3. Just a quick note – I can’t change this poll, but I plan to do some more based on specifics so food prep and convenience will come in to play coming up soon.
